We have just completed a fantastic second week of school at ACS. The 5-8th grade returned from outdoor education and has jumped right back into the groove. The K-4 classrooms are buzzing, learning the routines and becoming reacquainted with school.
It’s great to be back!
This year the staff has recommitted to more effective communication with parents. We heard from parent surveys that more information, on a weekly basis, is better.
As a staff we are committed to:
Improve communication between home and school.
Phone communication
- Staff will return all parent communications within 24 hours
Web Site communication expectations
- Each learning center will have an overall information page which will include:
- Curriculum summary
- Power standards
- Philosophy documents and policies, i.e. Homework policy, outdoor ed policy
- Each learning center will have a weekly web update by Friday at 3pm, to include:
- Announcements and calendar information
- The skill focus for the week
- Activities for the week
- Homework
- How can parents assist, either at home or in school
Please take a few minutes to tour through our web site. Start right here and go to ACS classrooms. We’d love to hear your feedback! After all, it’s all about communication.
